The McDowell United Fund has been around for over 60 years, and for some of the charities and organizations we support we are the sole provider of funding, and their great work in our cummunity would not be possible without the support of the McDowell United Fund, without your help.

We do not distribute funds to individuals, but when you see the list of charities and organizations, we are betting that either you or someone close to you has directly benefited from the services we halp to support!

Here's  how it works...

The McDowell United Fund collects donations from people like you, either through cash donations, or through a salary deducted donation that is organized at your place of work. Corporate donations (sometimes matching your own donation) are also added to the fund.

The McDowell United Fund, through keeping it's operating costs very low, is able to pass on the vast majority of this funding to the charities andorganizations it supports.

These charities and organizations can do what they do best - putting this money to the best possible use - to assist those who need help our local community

Our operating costs are low. We do not have an office location, and even this web site was donated for free, so you can be assured that when you give to the McDowell United Fund, your money is well spent, and used locally for the benefit of McDowell County.
